Citing Federal Grant SupportThe Center for Population Economics collects and analyzes data on Union Army recruits and makes the material available for public use under the auspices of a generous program project grant from the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health. The terms of the grant require that the sponsoring agency be acknowledged in any and all publications of work it supports. This applies to all publications using the data, including working papers, whether or not the researcher also received salary, travel, or other support from the grant. We also suggest that, as a courtesy, authors cite the grant in presentations and posters. The title of the program project grant is Early Indicators of Later Work Levels, Disease and Death, Robert W. Fogel, principal investigator. The reference number, which must be used in all acknowledgements, is P01 AG10120. Sample acknowledgements:"This work was [supported] [supported in part] by NIH/NIA grant number P01 AG10120." "The authors gratefully acknowledge the support of NIH/NIA grant number P01 AG10120." "This work was conducted under the auspices of NIH grant number P01 AG10120, Early Indicators of Later Work Levels, Disease and Death, Robert W. Fogel, principal investigator." Please contact CPE Associate Director Veronica Wald for further information. Mandatory Public Access to Publications Resulting from NIH-Funded ResearchAfter April 7, 2008, all users of CPE data are required to provide, in electronic format, a copy of the final pre-publication ("preprint") manuscript of every peer-reviewed article based upon those resources at the time of acceptance for publication. The policy and instructions for accessing the National Institute of Health's on-line repository, formatting, etc., can be found at: http://publicaccess.nih.gov/ Please bookmark this link, and please do not forget about it when articles supported by the Early Indicators grant are on the verge of publication! CPE Data Users AgreementNon-academic users can find the CPE Data User Agreement here. A copy of this agreement should be printed out, signed, and sent to the CPE Managing Director. |
